About Me
A little summary about meHi, I'm Gabriel - a developer based in New York City.
I earned my B.S. in Computer Science from The City College of New York (CUNY) in 2022. My time as a student gave me a broad foundation across technology and its concepts, which deepened my drive to pursue a career in software engineering and kept me motivated to keep growing long after graduation.
Since then I’ve been building in production. I currently work at Focus Camera in Brooklyn, where I’ve grown from Junior Developer to Web Developer over the past two years. In that time I’ve built internal tooling platforms, developed Shopify apps and theme extensions, worked on Magento integrations, handled deployments, built APIs, and shipped features across the full stack.
Some projects I’m proud of include ReviewSync, a Shopify app I built that aggregates customer reviews from BazaarVoice and Yotpo and surfaces them on product pages via a custom theme extension widget. I also developed WebTeam Tools, an internal Next.js platform that centralizes e-commerce operations by streamlining SKU lookups, bulk product updates, Shopify sync, and metafield management. Most recently I developed a full custom ERP system for Krinos, a food distribution company. For this production-deployed project, I designed the entire database schema to power a FastAPI + PostgreSQL backend paired with a Next.js 15 and React 19 frontend, seamlessly handling complex procurement, inventory tracking, vendor management, bulk imports, role-based access control, and PDF exports.
My interests span full-stack development, ecommerce engineering, automation, and systems design. I also have a background in cybersecurity from an internship at Miren, where I conducted penetration testing and built a Census Tract API on AWS Lambda.
I see myself as a lifelong learner. Technology is constantly evolving, and I’m always eager to keep up with new developments. Outside of work, I love spending time in nature.
